Frequently Asked Questions

How often should I contact my doula?

As often as you would like! The more you communicate with your doula, the better your experience will be. I do ask that my clients check in with me after each of their prenatal visits with their provider.

How will I know when it is time to go to the hospital?

I accompany my clients while they labor at home and wait until it is time to head to the hospital. We will wait on the birthing mother’s cues to know when it is time to got to he hospital. If I have not made it to their house yet, I ask to speak to the mother over the phone to see how she is handling contractions.

How many capsules will I get with placenta encapsulation?

This depends on how big your placenta is! Some women get 100 capsules, while others get 200. It varies by the size of your placenta.

How many images will I get with birth photography?

The amount of images that you will receive will depends on how quickly you deliver. I capture moments through labor and delivery to provide to you.

Do you offer payment plans?

Yes! After my clients pay their retainer fees, they are able to pay on the remainder of their fees until 36 weeks gestation.

Do you attend home births?

Yes I do! In fact, I absolutely love the atmosphere of home births. I specialize in unmedicated birthing center delivereis and home births.

Friday morning I woke up and our day started normal. Tk and I were talking about doing the sneak peek test the following week since the earliest you can do it is 6 weeks & I wanted to wait until 7. We were eager to know the gender of our fifth baby, and be able to share our excitement with the kids. We hadn’t announced publicly that we were expecting, but I had already called our midwife and had started dreaming of what our growing family would look like.

Friday evening I started spotting after having cramping the past few days. I knew it wasn’t good. I took another test and the lines were extremely faint. My heart sunk. One of my deepest fears was becoming my reality. I knew I was miscarrying, but begged for another possible explanation. As the night passed my cramping got more severe and so did my bleeding. I cramped all through the night and started miscarrying Saturday morning.

Yesterday, October 1st- also the month of loss awareness, I passed what we believe to be the baby. It has been such a hard and heavy past 5 days. I went from praying for my baby to be healthy to praying to pass everything so that I don’t have to keep having to experience heartbreak every time I go to the bathroom. We explained the loss to the kids and it was one of the most gut wrenching conversations I’ve ever had with them. I have been trying to process my emotions, grief, and thoughts. It’s hard to put into words how I feel. How do you explain the feelings for losing something so unexpected, but yet already so loved? My heart just feels so heavy.

A couple things I saw at #Aldi that I thought would be cute for either a baby shower, or to gift expecting friends. The baskets are perfect for postpartum supplies in the bathroom for easy access!

Take it up a level and fill the basket full of postpartum must haves: heating pad, after ease, milk moon postpartum tonic, water cup, red raspberry leaf tea, chapstick, pads, depends, or frida mom underwear.
